What the service is
kesintimivar.com is a free information service that compiles electricity outage announcements for Northern Cyprus from public sources and shows them on a single page.
It is free, requires no account, and has no paid version.
What we do not promise
This is the most important section; please read it.
The information is not a guarantee. Announced work can be cancelled, finish earlier than planned, or run long. Every time and duration on the site is an estimate, and is labelled as one on the card.
It may be incomplete. We can only compile outages that were announced. An unannounced fault may never appear here. If a source site goes down or changes its format, information may be delayed.
It may contain errors. Announcement texts are parsed automatically. That process can produce a wrong time, a missing village name, or a wrong classification. We correct such records — but they have to be noticed first.
This is not KIB-TEK's official site and has no connection to the utility. The definitive answer is always their own announcement.
Do not rely on it alone for critical decisions
Do not use this site as the only basis for a decision whose consequences could be serious.
If someone in your home depends on a mains-powered medical device, if your business has a cold chain, or if an outage would have serious consequences for you, confirm directly with KIB-TEK and make your own contingency plan. What that can look like is covered in our long outage guide.
The guides give general information. They are not a substitute for medical, legal or professional advice. Work on an electrical installation is a job for a qualified electrician.
Liability
This site is provided "as is". No undertaking is given that the information will be accurate, current, or uninterrupted.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we cannot be held liable for losses arising from decisions taken in reliance on the information here. That is the trade-off for offering the site free and voluntarily; cases of intent or gross negligence are unaffected.
The service may be interrupted, temporarily unavailable, or discontinued.
Using the content
Outage records are factual information compiled from public announcements: date, time, place name, and kind of outage. You may use them; we ask that you credit this site and link to the original announcement.
The guide articles are ours. For short quotations, a credit is enough; to republish one in full elsewhere, please write to us first.
The text of the source announcements belongs to the utility and the news outlets. That is why we do not store or republish their writing: we extract only structured facts and link back to the original.
Automated access. If you want to read the site by machine, do it at a reasonable rate and identify yourself — the same way we do with our own sources. We may block access heavy enough to degrade the service. If you need the data regularly, write to us and let us talk about it.
What you should not do
- Send requests heavy enough to disrupt the site
- Present the site as, or imply it is, an official KIB-TEK service
- Republish outage information in a distorted form
- Click, or cause clicks on, the advertising by automated means
Advertising
Server costs are covered by advertising. How ads are shown, and how to refuse their cookies, is explained on the privacy page.
A product or service you see in an ad is not endorsed by us. We have no relationship with an advertiser beyond the ad space itself, and advertising revenue has no influence of any kind on the outage data.
Changes
These terms may change over time. When they do, the date at the top of the page is updated. Continuing to use the site means you accept the current terms.
